One day you’re here, and the next you’re gone. I remember it so distinctively, us driving to class and singing along to old Westlife songs, naturally getting the words far beyond the point of wrong, but it didn’t matter. We decided on having a Rev Party — or a Revolution Party, which is basically a party where the focus is on the music, and the music would consist of songs through the ages, from the start of the nineties up till present day. That was the sort of things we would get up to, Marli and I. Now, after three years of studying together and becoming such great friends, she is flying off to go live one epic adventure! To put things into perspective — the image that I included is of a polaroid that my best friend took of me and Marli lying on the kitchen floor after she had told me about what she was going to be doing this year, 2015. It went on for quite some time before we made tea, obviously, and brought in Kat, our friend who is currently in America, via Skype. I have mentioned this before, but I am so excited for her — even though it makes me so depressed that my friends are all leaving the country and leaving me behind to be, like Farah (another friend who is leaving) would say, totes emosh!
These are the moments life consists of, the ones you remember and someday looking back at with fondness! They don’t necessarily need long explanations, they simply are what they are. I am going to keep this one very short. I just want to give a big ole goodbye, and a huge thank you! Marli, my friend, I am so excited for you — I will see you somewhere, someday, but until then…I love you and all the best with the journey you are embarking on.
Love you Lings!
